President Bola Tinubu is set to depart Abuja on Sunday for Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, to attend the Africa Heads of State Energy Summit scheduled to be held from January 27-28, 2025.  The Summit, hosted by the Tanzanian government in collaboration with the African Development Bank Group and the World Bank, aims to promote Mission 300, an initiative to provide electricity access to 300 million people in Africa by 2030. According to a statement by the Presidents Special Adviser, Bayo Onanuga, at the Summit in Dar es Salaam, African leaders, private sector representatives, development partners, and civil society groups will collaborate to accelerate energy access across the continent. He said the Summit will serve as a platform for sharing knowledge, expertise, and resources to tackle Africas energy challenges. Onanuga added that Key discussions will focus on increasing energy access in underserved areas, advancing renewable energy, improving energy efficiency, and mobilizing private sector investment. On the first day, at the ministerial level, participating countries, including Nigeria, will present their national energy strategies, known as compacts, which outline their plans to achieve universal energy access within five years. He mentioned that on the second day, Heads of State will endorse the Dar es Salaam Energy Declaration, which will provide a unified roadmap for Africas progress towards the Mission 300 goals. President Tinubu will deliver a national statement reaffirming Nigerias commitment to achieving universal energy access and its leadership role in Africas energy sector. He will also emphasize Nigerias ongoing clean energy initiatives and its strategy to enhance integrated energy delivery across the continent. Accompanying President Tinubu on the trip will be Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu; Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu; Special Adviser to the President on Energy, Olu Verheijen; and other senior government officials. After the summit, President Tinubu will return to Abuja. The post Tinubu set to depart Abuja for Tanzania for the Africa Heads of State Energy summit appeared first on Dotifi.com Cheap Domains .
